Most consultancies hire ahead of demand and then find work for the people they hired. That is what makes an engagement expand past the problem it was bought to solve. IOTA Field is built the other way round: the problem is scoped first, and the team is assembled for it from practitioners whose delivery record already exists and can be checked.
The engagements are contracted by IOTA Sustainable Developers Canada. Where work is regulated — accounting, tax, legal, securities — it is scoped and signed off by an appropriately licensed professional, named on the record, and no fee is quoted by anyone else.
What we are trying to build is narrower than it sounds: a way of buying complex work where the boundaries are written down before money moves, and where the people doing it are identifiable. Most of the machinery on this site exists to make those two things true rather than claimed.

Tell us the situation in a few lines and a person comes back to you, at no charge, to work out whether this is a fit. If it is not, we will say so — a scoped engagement that should not have started costs both sides more than a straight answer.
Scope before commitment
What is included, what is not, what we need from you, and how long it takes — written down before anything is signed. Regulated work is always scoped with the appropriate licensed professional.
Delivered by named people
Every engagement names the practitioners who will do it, each one having separately agreed to commercial work, with a delivery record that is visible rather than asserted.
